MARA BEZZI,

was born in Milan (Italy), she studied bassoon at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan where, still very young (18 years old), she brilliantly graduated. Afterwards she studied singing and graduated with honours at the Conservatory “A. Vivaldi” in Alessandria (Al).

She took a degree, 110 summa cum lause, in singing and performing arts at the Conservatory “A. Vivaldi” in Alessandria (Al).

She continued her studies under the guidance of Soprano Lorenza Canepa.

Currently she is improving under the guidance of M° Roberto Scandiuzzi.

She followed master classes given by Luciana Serra, Raina Kabaivanska, Roberto Scandiuzzi and the Austro-German liedere interpretation with Karola Theill.

At the Complesso Monumentale of S. Croce in Bosco Marengo (Al), she was awared with the prestigious “Ghisleri” prize for her achievements both in the artistic and the didactic fields.

She was invited to given recitals opera in Helsinki (Finland) and in Aarhus (Denmark) at the ancient theatre of Helsingor.

For two years she attended the drama school for opera singers at the Teatro Stabile in Turin, in collaboration with the Teatro Regio of Turin, held by Davide Livermore.

A review on “L'Opera” journal praises her as follows: “Mara Bezzi's firm and well-picthed voice, endowed with a very interesting timbre and a highly musical quality” (“L'Opera” - volume 23, number 239, July/August 2009).

She dubuted her roles of Violetta in “La Traviata” by G. Verdi, Leonora in “Il Trovatore” by G. Verdi, Maria Stuarda in “Maria Stuarda” by G. Donizzetti in Denmark; Gilda in “Rigoletto” by G. verdi; she sang in “Le Sorelle Bronte” by De Zogheb and A. Chenna (along with Alfonso Antoniozzi and directed by Davide Livermore, a work that was performed at the Goldoni Theatre in Venice on the occasion of the Biennale, repeated later at the Baretti Theatre of Turin).

She played the part of Musetta in “La Boheme” by G. Puccini, Adina in “L'Elisir d'Amore” by G. Donizzetti, Hanna Glawari in “La Vedova Allegra” by F. Lehar and Berta in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Rossini.

She played also the part of the Historian in a Passion by A. Scarlatti and the role of S. Lorenzo in the first modern performance of “Lartirio di S. Lorenzo” by F. Bianchi, and Matilde in “La Serva Spiritata” by P. Anfossi.

Mara Bezzi is frequently invited to prestigious concert seasons.

A highly regarded singer, endowed with exquisite musical talent and a great vocal versatility, Mrs. Bezzi's repertoire spans the ancient/baroque to contemporary music, including opera, sacred and chamber music.

She has also recorded a CD of contemporary music containing works by C.F. Semini and D. Gualtieri; for MV Cremona CD: Giuseppe Giordani “detto Giordaniello” 1751-1798 – mottetti sacri per Soprano e Organo (first world recording); for PEACOCK Classic Records: Pietro Abbà-Cornaglia (1851-1894) – Chamber Aria for Soprano and pianoforte (first world recording), musical project which saw her starring in solo recitals at: Teatro Litta in Milan, Teatro Sociale in Casale Monferrato, Teatro Comunale in Valenza, Teatro Alfieri in Asti (Italy), Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona (Switzerland); for PEACOCK Classic Records 2013 : “VERDI OPERA, priers” – Mara Bezzi and Roberto Scandiuzzi.
